5 Tips to Make Your
4th of July Party a Hit
Holidays are one of the most exciting times to be a homeowner, and the 4th of July is no exception! The blend of food, fireworks, and fun always makes for a day full of nostalgia and good memories. We love the opportunity to host on the 4th of July, so we put together a list of our top 5 tips for a stress-free celebration!
1. Decorate with Food
Our first tip is to save money by skipping the kitschy decor, and elevating your party with beautiful food! Get creative and find foods that fit the color scheme. Juicy blueberries, bright watermelon, and decadent whipped topping will cover all your bases for a patriotic table scape. Not only will it save money, it will make your whole party feel crisp and fresh — perfect for summer!
2. Keep it Light
When talking about food, our suggestion is to keep everything simple and easy — save the extravagant meals for November and December! The 4th of July should feel effortless and fun, so drop some berries in a bowl, set out a grazing board, and call it a day! If you want to get fancy, a simple hot dog or cheeseburger from the grill is the perfect American dish to top it all off.
3. Start a New Tradition
Tradition and nostalgia are a huge part of the 4th of July ambiance! This year, start your own special tradition that will keep your guests looking forward to coming back to visit you year after year.
This tradition doesn’t have to be crazy— it could be as simple as a s’mores bar or a slip and slide that only comes out on the 4th. If you want to go big, however, invite your guests to join in on a hot dog eating contest or a mini parade in front of your house!
4. Designated Fireworks Area
We know it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. The last thing that anyone wants to happen is a fireworks accident at their party!
Use extra precaution by finding the flattest portion of your yard that is far away from all the excitement happening near the house. Mark this area off with chalk paint or flags to signify that it is off limits to children. We also recommend chalking a line that is a safe distance from where they are being shot and naming it the front row. Kids will understand this and want a seat there close to the action!
5. Don't forget the Playlist
A curated set of tunes is the icing on the cake of a perfectly picturesque 4th of July. Don’t make this hard on yourself though! Whether you like country music or you’re more into the classics, there is probably already a playlist for your preferred party vibe on Spotify. Don’t forget to charge your speakers, and have one for indoors and outdoors!
